SPRING 2019 SALE

Dear MOPS Consignment Sale Participants,

We wanted to let you know MOPS Leadership has made a decision to NOT have a Spring Consignment Sale this year.  With some increased fees and decreased profit over the years, we do not anticipate making enough profit to make the sale worth it this year.  Thank you so much for all the hard work you have done to make our previous consignment sales successful.  We really appreciate it.  You all have worked very hard and it has showed.  We are very grateful for your support.

Warmly,

Kelli McMahon on Behalf of MOPS Leadership

Payment

We currently accept only CASH or CHECK (with valid ID).

Arrival Times

Our volunteer pre-sale shoppers arrive between 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. to get in line. (This sale is for volunteers only – for information on volunteering, see the Volunteer Corner page.) Our public sale begins at 8:00 a.m. and shoppers line up for this sale as early as 6:00 a.m. to get a good spot in line. Those waiting in the pre-sale and public sale lines are given a numbered ticket for entry. As a courtesy to all those in line, it is our policy that you may not hold a spot in line for someone else to shop with you.

Volunteer Pre-Sale

First, in fairness to all volunteer shoppers, children of ANY age are not allowed to enter the Volunteer Pre-Sale. If you arrive at the pre-sale with children, you will be asked to wait for the public sale to begin. Second, if you shop the Volunteer Pre-Sale and fail to serve your shift following the pre-sale, you will only be able to register for shifts prior to the Volunteer Pre-Sale in the future.

Early Shopping Passes

You're not able to be a volunteer, but would like to shop a half-hour early before the Sale opens to the public? A limited number of early shopping passes will be available for purchase. Passes are $20 each (if paid in advance) and allow one person to enter our MOPS Consignment Sale at 7:30 a.m. (30 minutes before the Sale opens to the public). Passes are first-come, first-serve and must be paid for in order to be held (passes are not guaranteed until payment is received). Payment can be made by check and must be received by the Sale Coordinator by the Tuesday the week of the sale. If there are passes still available, they may also be purchased for $25 CASH the morning of the sale. There are no refunds for unused passes. Spouses and friends must have their own shopping pass. Please e-mail the Sale Coordinator to reserve and pay for your pass.

Tubs and Strollers

Bring a tub or large reusable shopping bag to carry your items. If you bring an empty stroller to use as a “cart”, a stroller tag must be attached to your stroller when you enter the sale to indicate that it is yours. If you have too much to carry easily, please utilize our Small Item Hold Bay to store items you want to purchase.

Large Items

Large Items are purchased before you leave them in the Large Item Hold Bay to continue shopping. Please be prepared to pay for these items separately at our special Large Hold Bay Register. It is up to those purchasing cribs to disassemble them – tools are provided.

Sorting Items for Purchase

If you need to sort through items prior to purchase, all sorting is done on the stage area of the main room. Please do not sort on the shopping floor so that traffic can move easily around the racks. We request that you only take an armful of items at a time and that you sort through them in a timely manner. Floor volunteers will monitor this area and help put back items you do not wish to purchase. Since the sale is only for a few hours, we really have an obligation to our consignors to keep their items on the racks for purchase by our shoppers. If the stage area becomes congested with shoppers, we may set a time limit for sorting through items.

No-Tag Items

When items are separated from their tag, we will make every effort to see that the item and its tag are reunited. However, if we are unable to do so, we cannot sell the item. We also cannot sell items whose description does not match the item.

Children

If you are bringing children with you while you shop the Sale from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., they should remain with you at ALL times. Please do not allow them to play with consigned toys while you shop. Also, make sure they do not open toys, or remove or lose consignor tags, even if you plan to purchase an item. Our policy is that items without tags may not be purchased. Your help in this area is greatly appreciated.

Note: Children are not allowed to enter the Pre-Sale out of safety for them and fairness to other shoppers. The only exception to this is nursing infants who can be held in a soft baby carrier. If you arrive at the Pre-Sale with children, you will be asked to wait for the public sale to begin.

Half-Price Sale (11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)

This is becoming more popular with each sale. The regular sale ends at 11:00 a.m. and all shoppers must proceed to the cashier line at this time. The sale will close for 30 minutes from 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. to prepare for the Half-Price Sale. Shoppers will not be allowed into the sale at this time. Our floor volunteers go through each rack during this time to make sure items are on the appropriate racks. Items may not be set aside during the regular sale for purchase at the Half-Price Sale. Remember: items with an “X” in the upper corner of the tag are not sold at half-price.

Dollar Dash (3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

Any items remaining in the building during the dollar dash will be for sale, priced as follows:

Clothes and toys: $1 each

Books and videos: 4/$1.00

Large items: 75% off

100% of the profits from these sales go to CFC MOPS. If you do not wish your items to be sold during the Dollar Dash, please pick them up between 2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Consignor Pick-Up

Consignor pick-up will be from 2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. only. You must be in the building by 2:45 p.m. to ensure you have enough time! If you have a large number of items to pick up, please let us know and we will be able to assist you in moving your items out of the building. Any items not picked up by 3:00 p.m. become donated property of CFC MOPS and will be available for sale in the Dollar Dash. CFC MOPS will receive 100% of the profits for these items.

**If you do not plan to come back for your items, please just mark them for donation!**

No Refunds, Returns, or Exchanges

All sales are final at the CFC MOPS Sale. Be sure to look over your item carefully before you purchase it. We cannot guarantee that videos, tapes, software, or items requiring batteries are in working order. We will not make any exceptions to this clearly stated policy.

Liability Policy

CFC MOPS and/or Christian Fellowship Church and/or Ashburn Elementary School are not responsible or liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged items as a result of their being consigned at our sale. It is not our policy to compensate consignors if an item is lost, stolen or damaged. We make every effort to ensure your consigned items are well cared for at our sale and that they are not misplaced or taken by another consignor during the clean-up process.
